Congratulations to those who may be basking in the glow of the recent anti-incumbent referendum on government on a masterfully executed canard of conflating ultra-conservative ideology with patriotic nationalism.

Moving people to act, just for the sake action, against their own “enlightened” self-interest, is no small accomplishment.

To those who support the ideology of the Tea Party movement, I applaud your missionary zeal for reform in government. Right pew…wrong church. Your grass roots magnanimous intent has evolved into an ersatz caricature of itself…an astro-turf; the message of change ultimately appropriated and funded by the ultra-conservative Plutocracy and the Corporatocracy.

Domestic Imperialism.

The recent decision of the US Supreme Court in Citizens United has forever distorted the democratic rules of political discourse. Those of you whose vote may have been influenced by the massive influx of television advertising, you have now glimpsed an exhibition of the “shock and awe”  power of the Cancerous Corporatocracy to corrupt and usurp democracy with Money.

Sadly, democracy has been auctioned off to the highest bidder, like some banal commodity on eBay.

So welcome to the new paradigm for governing–inverted totalitarianism–where, capitalism no longer serves the democracy, rather democracy, and specifically, the First Amendment of the Constitution has been cruelly perverted as just another tool of the Corporatocracy…a mere talking point, to advance unfettered free-market capitalism, at the expense of the working class.

From checks and balances to checks and balance sheets.

Tragically, the “American People” have tacitly abdicated democracy, to allow the Corporatocracy not to just speak to them…but for them.

I tremble when I reflect on the notion that the American people will get the kind government that they deserve.
