This painting, “Fragile Status Quo,” was completed several days after the petroleum pipeline explosion in June of 1999 less than a mile from my studio in Bellingham WA. It is an elegy; an expression of my personal grief for the three innocent, unfinished lives lost, and mayhem inflicted causing millions of dollars in damage to a beautiful, very special place.
